Billing Statement Tips
We understand that going back to school takes a big financial commitment. To better serve you in your financial planning, we want to help you understand how the Universitys billing system works and when your payments will be due in relation to when you register for courses.
Your first billing due date will be determined by the date of your registration. Bills are printed on or around the 20th of each month. Payments will be due on or before the 15th of the following month. The amount of your payment is dependent upon when you register:
The earlier you register, the more time you have to pay fees for the semester. Winter semester is billed from December through April. Summer is billed May to June. Fall is billed July through November. The further into a semester that you register, the fewer months you have to split your bill for smaller payments.
If you do not make the minimum payment by the scheduled due date, your registration will be canceled and you will have to re-register. You may be required to make financial arrangements with the Cashiers Office prior to being allowed to register again.
If you early register for BOTH summer and fall , ONLY the summer fees will be billed to you starting in April.
Payment Options
Bill Me: Fees will be billed through the University's Cashiers department. Payments can be made by check, travelers' checks, or money order payable to the University of Missouri-Columbia or online at the myZou Payment Center by check or credit card. Notice: Discover and MasterCard credit card payments accepted only online (fee applies). Although Visa credit cards are not accepted, you can pay using checks associated with your Visa card. The check will be processed as a check payment, and you will be subject to any and all fees associated with using Visa checks (as determined by your credit card company). Visit the Office of Cashiers web site.
The myZou Payment Center allows you to view and pay your bill online (through electronic debit of your checking account). You can view your most recent bill, past bills up to 12 months and current activity that has occurred since your most recent bill was mailed. You also can make an online check or credit card payment directly from this site. You will need to know your PawPrint and password to sign in to this secure server program.
Understanding your Billing and Payment Process
The MU Cashier's Office explains bill payment options and more about the billing process at their Understanding Your Bill page.
Important Notes:
- Please remember that it is very important that you actually make a payment. Unless a third party is paying the University directly for ALL of your educational expenses, you must make a payment to guarantee your participation each semester. (For instance: Since MU Educational Assistance only partially pays your fees, you are responsible for paying the rest which means youll need to make a payment the very FIRST time you get a bill.) It is helpful to have third party payer authorization or educational assistance credits on your account prior to monthly bills being printed. This will allow the monthly bill to more accurately reflect the amounts that are your responsibility and make it a little easier to make the minimum payments by the indicated due dates.
- If you register for courses and do not make a required minimum payment by the scheduled due date, your registration will be canceled and you will need to re-register. You may be required to make financial arrangements with the Cashiers Office prior to being allowed to register again. If classes have begun by the time you re-register, you may be subject to a late registration fee.
- Failure to pay a bill by the scheduled due date may result in cancellation for non-payment, and will result in a 1% monthly finance charge and a late payment fee of $10.00 each month the payment is missed. Bills are mailed out around the 20th each month. If you havent received yours by the end of the month, contact the Cashiers Office to obtain a copy.
- You can always check your account and obtain a copy of your bill using the myZOU Payment Center – https://myzou.missouri.edu/psp/prd. This web site will allow you to view your most recent bill and current activity that has occurred since your most recent bill was produced. You can also make an online check or credit card payment directly from this site. You will need to know your PawPrint and password to sign in to this secure server.
- To view account history from February 2007 and before, use "Tiger Tracks." http://cashiers.missouri.edu/tigertracks.htm Note: you cannot make a payment frm the Tiger Tracks site – it is only used to display historical billing information.
